Review from Ashes #2

Below is a copy of the review of Mockingbird Lane's second show on 6-8-02. This was in the "Live Show Reviews" article written by Nick Cebalo for Ashes.

THE BANNED, THE FESTIVAL CITY SAINTS, MOCKINGBIRD LANE, THE TUDE', & THE PURPLE COW STORY June 8th at Buzz's Subs in Norman

By Nick Cebalo

Unfortunately, I missed half the show and got there in time for Mockingbird Lane, the only D-Rock band I think I've ever seen in Norman. They were very entertaining to watch, especially the funny looking Hot Topic postergirls moshing about. According to some people, Mockingbird Lane was the most energetic band that night so far. Next was The Festival City Saints. Very nice punk band, from what I heard. It got to hot and I had to sit in the other room in front of a fan before I died, but they did sound pretty cool. So based on that I give two thumbs up and a "good job guys". And last up were New York natives The Banned. After playing one song they had to stop for a sec so the drummer could put on clothes. Whoops! Apparently these things are supposed to be planned out, right? Not likely. Anyway, they played for a good hour and twenty minutes and they kicked ass. This would be my first time to have heard this band and I definitely was impressed. It was definitely a fun night.
